Hey whats up KC! I just wanted to know your music background, like if your self taught or took lessons, play any other genres, and when you started playing, etc.

Hey dude, well I started playing guitar when I was 11. I eventually took up drums when I was about 13/14. I played in a few different bands in high school and eventually got into death metal when I was about 17. I've been playing in that style ever since. However, that's not the only style that I play. I really like mellow jazzy/fusion type stuff as well. I've done some recordings with friends that are kind of in that style. Although I really spend most of my time playing death metal style drums.

As far as lessons and training goes, I took guitar lessons for about 3 to 4 years with this dude then stopped when I got into drums more. Then I started taking drum lessons from this dude Bill Ray who is an insane funk style drummer. I studied with him for a couple years until I moved out of San Diego. I haven't taken lessons in a while and I'd really like to start again. I think it really helped me with my drumming.
