What do you do to get your kick to sound so damn good like dampening wise?

When you have good kickhead tuned well, you shouldn´t need dampening at all. Don´t overdo the dampening or you´ll just end up killing the sound, and then it sounds like cardboard box.

So a huge pillow would probably kill it? What do you use no dampening?

I have a thick couch type pillow that fits snugly in there, and does a pretty good job, im adding on a second bass drum though soon as i make enough to purchase it
