hey george which mesh heads do you use? TDrum? how often do you have to replace them if ever? Is there a place to buy them online in the USA (musiciansfriend etc)?

hey, not sure which ones george is using. but i know you can get them state side pretty easy, i think musicians friend might have em, if not interstate music definatly does. i know pearl makes some, so does tama and hart electronics. just depends on what sizes you need. your local pearl dealer should be able to get the pearl mesh heads no problem. if not, here is a link to get ya started...

dang man thanks for the links, we are having a baby this month so i gotta get something quiet lol. how long do they typically last? i play with plastic tipped sticks ive read that helps the longevity of them.

so are you planning to get triggered cymbals as well?

right now i cant afford anything. i want triggers insane bad but a band member says they suck. i cant afford a dm5 etc right now anyhow but eventually would like to be all triggered. with mesh heads i know it doesnt kill sound 100% so i can still play without triggers.

ah ok, that's an idea. buy yourself mesh heads first.
triggers sometime suck. i had big problems triggering mesh heads but george obviously hasn't so give it a try when you have some money. shoot a dm5 on ebay.

i will. I planned on triggering my bass drums anyhow mesh heads or not. one of the band member says i cant have dynamics/accents, but i never use dynamics with my feet! lol

haha lol me too! but you can. there's a parameter in every module called "velocity" which controls dynamics.

i set it to max. so every hit is the same level.
