Need advice...burying the beaters...

Hi everyone!!! What I would like to ask you are some tips to improve my balance while playing 2 bass drums.

I just found too hard to bury the bass drum beater with my Axis.
I'll explain you why I need to bury the beater: sometimes I just need to have the foot placed in the pedal to help my balance when I do patterns and stuff.
I know AXIS are the best but I just found too hard sometimes burying the beater...maybe even because I'm using danmar metal kick pads and danmar wood beaters....

What do I have to do?
I tried the pedals with the maximum spring tension...but it just DOESN' WORK for me because I found hard even to hit the bass drum....imagine how can I bury the beater!!!
I'm playing with a medium spring tension.

The question is how to find balance when going slow for example, you just have to bury the beaters into the head...
I'm playing HEEL UP.

Thanks in advance!!

I would suggest that you try to gain balance without having to bury the beater into the head. Although having played with maximum spring tension for quite some time, I think it's impossible to bury the beater completely without being tense. But I still don't feel the need of burying the beater into the head.

Just try to get used to not burying the beater and you should be fine.

Hey, try the settings from George Kollias. Try a rubber ironcobra/Red Danmar wood as beaters.
V.d.l about half, the distance between the beater and the head about 18,5 cm, and the ankle 45 degrees. I play with max. springtension but you can built it up and try first medium spring tension.

Note!- The Axis longboards springs are monsters.
