Very very difficult...Not to learn the song and understand what's going on,but to be able to execute them.I use to work with my ears since i was a kid so i can easily understand the drum parts.Pete's parts were the most tricky parts to hear so many times i was wrong, all Nile drummers were (and still are) incredible so i am very proud to be the new Nile drummer.
In order to play every song from any album, you have to push, there is no way to play these songs without sweat...Offcourse i am very familiar with them right now but i still push alot everytime...

older nile songs

Thanks for the interesting reply. I admit that nile always had the 'best' drummers but if I have to draw a graph up till now it will look like this

GEORGE / 400%
Tony / 300 %
Derek / 200 %
Pete / 100%

Cheers guys

i'm not alright with your percentage , i think it's not a matter of that ! all of the nile drummer have a different technique , level & their personal identity ! for sure album after album the nile drummers need work more & more ! i think the work from dallas & karl as guitarist isn't for nothing too !!!!!!!!!!!

from what I've read, heard and seen, tony, george and derek play with a similar "technique". Their style's are different though

older nile songs

I thought I was gonna get into trouble posting this, but let me rephrase:

What I meant was the amount I was "surprised" with each of the drummers' drumming on the Nile albums. And George Kollias had HUGE tracks to fill (where such BIG names in the business "walked" through) and he did it with DISTINCTION!!!

I loved the first Nile album to death (and Pete's drumming was awsome) -thought it was the best thing to happen to the death metal scene in ages!!!

I've been a fan of Mr Derek ever since he played Malevolent Creation: ICB

And Tony...Well he's just absolutely amazing!!!

Anyone of you know where I can find the live tour video where he played with Malevolent Creation (I was totally blown away by his playing and I had to watch the video a couple of times!!!)

Sorry if I offended anyone of you.

Grind & Blast till you Fall & Beyond!!!
