new snare drum prototype

hey mike, first I'd like to say in the realm of blasting you're a huge inspiration.

I am prototyping a new way to create drums... because I'm a blaster myself and I play hard I am creating one of the strongest drums out there, probably some of the loudest too. My first prototype is going to be made out of premium baltic birch and it's I can't wait to hear what it sounds like. But my question to you is are you interesting in taking a prototyped snare drum for a spin? I've been drumming now for 17 years and I'm sure this new way to build drums is going to work great! so if you're interested let me know. Come up to Calgary AB canada for a show and I'll deliver it to you personally.

Cheers man

Colin

Of course ill be willing to check out a new type of snare. You can never go wrong with extra drums to use. Thanks for the interest Colin.

cheers, let me know when you're playing in Calgary AB Canada, and I'll give it to you...for me to take the trip to Calgary and pay to see suffocation will probably be less than shipping the drum to you heh. Any way, cheers man

PS: out of curiosity are you still using your unreal snare drum? did you get anything else from them?

I still have and use my UNreal snare at home. its a nice snare, they were never able to fulfill the whole kit as promised though. Since that time DDRum has stepped up and supplied a kit.

yeah I got royally screwed by Brian real good.... If there's such a thing as karma then our paths will cross and my foot will be logged in his ass... My ultimate goal is to create a whole drum set out of this new design....I'm also going to be working on creating my own Carbon fiber drums, as well I'm going to try a kevlar shell as well just for shits and giggles.... the ultimate drum that i'm making for myself is going to be a 7x14 monster, will carbon fiber rims and lugs... it's gonna be sweet.

cheers

If Calgary doesnt come up anytime soon in our schedule, let me know the cost to ship and we'll get it moving.
size 5 1/2" by 14" would be the size of choice, for the records.

Hola, not meaning to highjack your thread Colin but I didn't know Mike was on here Sounds awesome though, I'm going to try and make my own snare drum this yearLet us know how this one of yours turns out.

Mike - My friend's a promoter and has told me you guys are doing a gig in April in Brighton England and he may have got us a slot, but he said something about there won't be a kit there/having to bring mine? Do you have any idea what I'm on about?
